Brat's Curry

Brat's Curry

Dubbed "Brat's Curry," this is curry rice with big chunky ingredients that goes all in on grown-up cravings. Pork belly and roughly cut vegetables are simmered with Vermont Curry (medium hot), then piled high with 6 sausages, a fried egg, cheese, and fukujinzuke pickles.

INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions

  1. 1

    First, cook the rice.

  2. 2

Cut the carrot, potato, onion, and pork belly into pieces just barely too big for a child's mouth.

  3. 3

Pack the cut ingredients into a pot and pour in plenty of water.

  4. 4

Light the burner and simmer the pot.

    2:12~15 min
  5. 5

After 15 minutes, add the Vermont Curry (medium hot) roux, let it dissolve, and finish the curry.

  6. 6

Let it cool once and rest so the flavors settle.

  7. 7

While it rests, pan-fry the 6 sausages for the side.

  8. 8

In the same pan with the sausage fat left in it, fry the egg on one side to make a fried egg.

  9. 9

Heap a generous serving of rice into a bowl and ladle on so much curry roux that it overflows.

  10. 10

Top with the fried egg and sprinkle on the cheese.

  11. 11

Pile on a ridiculous amount of fukujinzuke pickles, arrange the fried sausages alongside, and it's done.
