An abura soba-style dish made with frozen Sanuki udon using just one bowl — no knife, cutting board, or stovetop required. Instructions
Add the chicken stock powder, oyster sauce, garlic, oil, and other seasonings directly into a donburi bowl and mix together. Using a finely granulated chicken stock powder helps it dissolve quickly for an even flavor.
0:21~1 minCrack the egg and set the yolk aside for topping. Add the egg white to the sauce and mix it in.
0:49~1 minIf you want it warmer, microwave the bowl with the sauce at 300W for about 30 seconds to bring it to around 40-50°C.
1:11~1 minMicrowave the frozen Sanuki udon according to the manufacturer's instructions. If it's a type that can be microwaved in its bag, leave it in the bag.
1:31~3 minOnce heated, open the bag carefully to avoid burning yourself on the steam, and add the udon straight into the bowl with the sauce.
While it's still hot, toss the noodles thoroughly so the sauce coats them well.
1:56~1 minIf you're serving this to someone, lightly wipe away any sauce around the rim of the bowl for a better presentation.
Finish by placing the reserved egg yolk on top of the noodles.
Add black pepper, chopped green onion, and shredded nori to taste and enjoy.
For even more flavor, add a little chili oil and a light sprinkle of black pepper, scatter over some green onion, and top with shredded nori.
