Taisho-Style Butter Chicken Curry
An authentic butter chicken curry made by marinating chicken drumettes in yogurt, curry powder, garlic and ginger for 2 hours, then simmering them for 30 minutes with onions sauteed in plenty of butter, canned tomatoes and milk. The natural sweetness of honey and the richness of heavy cream give it restaurant-quality flavor with no store-bought curry roux needed.

Instructions
Put 8 chicken drumettes in a plastic bag and add 1 teaspoon salt, black pepper to taste, 2 1/2 tablespoons curry powder and 4 tablespoons plain yogurt.
0:29~5 minPeel the garlic, leave the skin on the ginger, and grate a generous amount of each into the bag.
1:51~5 minTie the bag closed, massage it thoroughly, and marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Prepping in the morning and cooking in the evening is recommended.
2:53~120 minPrepare a generous amount of onion and mince it as finely as possible.
4:16~10 minMelt 60g butter in a deep frying pan, add the minced onion and saute well over high heat at first.
6:04~10 minOnce the onion is cooked, add the entire 400g can of diced tomatoes, raise the heat and simmer further.
7:41~5 minWhen it starts bubbling, add 250cc water (used to rinse out the tomato can) and 250cc milk.
8:07~2 minAdd 3 chicken bouillon cubes, bring to a boil and check the balance of the flavor.
8:46~5 minOnce boiling, add the marinated drumettes along with all of the marinade to the pot and bring back to a boil.
9:08~5 minAdd 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce as a secret ingredient to adjust the flavor.
10:23~3 minSimmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn't scorch.
11:43~30 minServe in a bowl and finish by drizzling on heavy cream and scattering parsley over the top.
12:54~3 min
