Canned Mackerel and Tomato Salad (Taisho-Style Diet Dish)
A simple appetizer made by just mixing canned mackerel in water with tomato, garlic chives, new onion, and garlic in a dressing of ponzu and olive oil. No cooking required — just chop everything and toss it together. The aroma of the garlic chives, garlic, and onion keeps the mackerel from tasting fishy, making this a satisfying yet healthy dish.
